MTA is looking for experienced coders

Multi Theft Auto is looking for experienced coders to work with us to develop the next major version of our very successful online MTA community center website.

The new community center will take care of the distribution of maps, scripts, gamemodes, etcetera. made by scripters and mappers that use MTA.

People will be able to download and upload their creations, server administrators can easily download the latest creations to run on their own servers.

With the next release of Multi Theft Auto, we want to make the MTA community center the core of the experience of both users, content creators and server administrators. Our aim for the map editor is to eventually tie the editor to the new community center, so sharing of maps, gamemodes and other resources will be even easier for our users.

Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of PHP, at least a year experience
* Strong SQL (MySQL) knowledge
* A fair amount of free time over at least the next month

Optional, but desired:
* Good knowledge of Javascript
* Experience developing AJAX applications

What you get:
* Knowledge that you're helping out a good cause
* Credit
* Experience

If you think you can do this, please don't hesitate to contact us using either the "Contact" link on the left, or by visiting us on our IRC server (send a personal message to any of the developers). Please note that IRC will probably be faster than e-mail.

Thanks.

-The MTA Team

I was allready working on a fansite for exactly the same purpose. Heavy use of PHP/SQL with a lot of JS-code.
I'm eager to contribute to the team but also a bit disappointed because this means the development of my (unfinished) fansite seems somewhat wasted time...
Gonna contact the devs anyway.

Agree with frank, this ROCKS !!

I'd help out, if I could code anything more than very, very basic things (the kind of coding you'd see in, say, a Pokemon Game Boy-game =\).

And also, yeah, with several other things being developed, it does hint that you're aiming to release a bunch of stuff at once ... or I could be wrong, and MTA-SA could take another year. Only you guys really know, and all you can do is estimate by how much you already have done.

Good luck on finding people to help out.

Don't worry, it won't be another year.

Catalyst: The code that goes into a Pokemon Gameboy game is actually a lot more complex than a simple CRUD webpage like this.

Then why are you playing Jonathan and calling people stupid? You can't even use grammar.. sorry for being rude but the truth might hurt sometimes.

The "good cause" was meant to be humorous...

Coding?

raz0: The coding is actually pretty simple. Look up an English translated version of RPGMaker 2000, you could code a better-looking version of a Pokemon game, honestly. Coding it raw is hard, yes, but that isn't ...

The only thing I have trouble with in RPG-Maker 2000 is variables, and a menu system (which involves heavy variables.)

Anyway, yeah, hope it isn't another year, like you said. But you never know, someone could like, assassinate the entire team, which would totally set the mod back.
